Prior to The Great American Trucking Show — where the series culminated — Overdrive readers voted online for their favorite truck in the National Championship series. That Truckers’ Choice winner was Austin Ashley’s 2007 Peterbilt 379, Double Take, which is pictured above.

Ashley, of Raleigh, Miss., also won Second in the championship’s Overall Working Bobtail.

    No fender convex mirrors releases this vehicle from being called a truck and has been my opinion since 1958. It might easily be compared to driving a submarine, or a horse wearing blinders.
