When Tim first hears the buzzing sound, he thinks he’s left his electric razor on. No such luck. The angry bee buzzes him a few times before aiming his stinger right at Tim’s neck. With both his hands on the wheel and no way to escape, Tim is in a real honey of a dilemma.
WHAT TO DO IF YOU ARE TRAPPED IN THE CAB WITH A BEE
1. Put your windows down and hope the insect will fly out.
2. Put on your flashers to warn others.
3. If you get stung, resist the urge to look at the sting or touch it. You need your eyes and both hands to safely pull off the road.
4. Exit your rig.
5. If the stinger is visible, try removing it with a knife or credit card.
REMEMBER: Dial 911 if a sting results in difficulty breathing, swelling of lips or throat, faintness, confusion, rapid heartbeat, hives, nausea, cramps or vomiting. Less severe reactions include diarrhea or swelling larger than 2 inches in diameter at the sting. If you call for emergency transportation, lie on your side while waiting and, if possible, take an antihistamine, such as Benadryl.
