Publisher: dh Audio

Listening Time: 3 hours

Genre: Science Fiction

Plot: Ryan Carter leads a group of characters to survival after the nuclear holocaust.

Main characters: Ryan Carter is the leader of the group. J.B. Dicks is the weapons expert. Christi Roth is Ryan’s girlfriend. Roth is a mutant transformed by radiation. Jack Larren is an albino. Mildred is a female doctor who Carter brought out of cryogenics. Mildred was frozen prior to World War III. Doc Tanner was originally living in the 18th century, and he was brought to modern times via the time machine. Tanner was pushed even further into the future so that he could be found by Carter’s group.

What’s best (or not)? I liked it because of its intensity. It kept me awake wanting to hear what would happen next. The characters and story were believable.

Would you recommend? Yes, I felt it was very entertaining and had a story line you could keep up with and understand.

Narrator’s style: I enjoyed his voice. He was clever and very easy to understand.

Rating: 10 +

Birds of Prey -
J.A. Jance

Former homicide detective J.P. Beaumont may have cut himself loose from the Seattle police force, but that doesn’t mean he’s out of the game. As he accompanies his grandmother and her new husband on their honeymoon cruise to Alaska, murder suddenly makes waves when Beau becomes the target of a gang of middle-aged divorcees, including a tempestuous lady named Margaret Featherman. When Featherman’s fatal fall from the ship is caught by a security camera, the only witness is a hapless Alzheimer’s patient. Beau is mistaken for an FBI agent, and he is inadvertently drawn into the investigation. He brings his skill and sardonic humor to a case where clues are few but suspects abound.

The Tenth Commandment -
Gerry Gotro

When Mike Silverwing’s sister, Anita, fails to meet him in Toronto, he is angry and calls North Wind. Chief Jim Peters says he has flown her to London, Ontario, at her request, with a fortune in uncut diamonds. Mike needs help, and the good guys from North Wind set out to find the girl and the precious stones. Finding her in a London hospital without the diamonds, they learn two things. First, her attacker resides in Toronto, and second, hunting in Canada’s largest city is no fun. Luring the bad guys into the northern wilderness makes sense, but the good guys learn that the city guys are quite adept at killing anywhere.
