Mike Most, as noted in previous articles about him and his 1999 Freightliner Classic, is quite fond of Freightliner trucks, particularly his own, which he gave a pretty extensive makeover in the middle of last decade.
He bought the truck new in 1998 and did the bulk of the work in 2006, seizing his opportunity with the truck was in need of a paint job.
He had quite the motivation to make his truck a real head-turner, too: He says he couldn’t stand Peterbilts and Kenworths winning all of the awards at the shows he attended.
He’s tucked quite a few Best of Show awards away in the years he’s been showing it, including the 2010 Great West Truck Show Pride & Polish’s Best of Show, Working Bobtail, which he’s back to try to reclaim this year after sitting out the 2011 show.
The truck’s on display today through Saturday here at the Sands Expo & Convention Center in Las Vegas as part of the 2012 GWTS. If you’re in the area, stop by and see it and the other 30 or so trucks on display. The show’s awards ceremony is Saturday at 11 a.m., which will be when everyone finds out if Most and his rig still have what it takes to win.
