Plot: Mary Higgins Clark tells of her early childhood growing up in the Bronx, N.Y., and some of her hardships as a young child during the Depression years. Then she tells of being a stewardess and of her marriage to Warren Clark. She had to raise five small children by herself because her husband died young of a heart condition. She struggled and finally triumphed as a writer of mysteries. She gives a lot of insights into how she writes her stories and why.
What was your favorite moment/scene in the book? When she told about getting her first story sold.
Which character was your favorite? Why? Mary’s mother. She had several different sayings and was a typical mother.
Did the book have a message or a theme that stood out to you? If you have friends and family that believe in you, you will succeed.
What did you like about the book? Dislike? The story line was in order and didn’t jump around. It told what the author is doing right up to modern day.
Would you recommend?: Yes, especially if you like Mary Higgins Clark’s stories. It’s good to learn more about the author’s early life.
Narrator’s style: She has a nice voice, easy to listen to.

What did you like about the book? Dislike? It’s really intriguing – with a huge galactic adventure and plot twists that make Star Wars pale and Twilight Zone-like surprises. I listened to the story five times in a row!
Would you recommend?: If you liked Star Wars, you’re going to love this story.
