Plot: This is the story of Mickey Haller, a lawyer who works out of the back of his Lincoln Town Car. He has long ago given up on defending innocents and just works the system to get the best deal he can for his clients. His greatest fear is that he’ll one day get an innocent client put away.

Then he gets a wealthy client who seems at first to be innocent – and Mickey’s ticket to the good life. But when a close friend is murdered, he realizes he may be up against someone truly evil. He must use all his knowledge and pull all his tricks just to walk away alive.

What was your favorite moment? When Mickey figures out that his client is guilty, and he has to still defend him.

Which character was your favorite? Mickey, because he’s really a good guy even if he tries to act like he’s hard-hearted.

Does the book have a message or theme? There are times when no matter what happens, you do what is right.

What did you like or dislike? I liked it because it keeps you wanting more till the end, when you will never guess what’s coming.

Narrator’s style: Adam Grupper has a good voice for all the parts and makes them come to life.

How would you grade the book? A+

Notables: Challenger Park – By Stephen Harrigan
In Challenger Park, bestselling author Stephen Harrigan tells a story about the contrary pulls of home and adventure – something truckers can well understand.

Lucy Kincheloe is an astronaut married to an astronaut, the mother of two young children and fiercely determined to excel in the space program. She has devoted years of effort to winning her place on a mission, but as her lifelong dream of flying in space comes true, her familiar world appears to be falling apart around her.

Then when she is at last in space, 240 miles above the earth, an accident renders the world she left behind appallingly distant – perhaps unreachable – and Lucy’s spirit is tested in gripping and unexpected ways.
