August 23-25: The Pacific Northwest Truck Museum in Brooks, Ore.

Every August the folks at the Pacific Northwest Truck Museum in Brooks, Ore., roll out the industry’s history. This year they’ll have Overdrive’s 40th Anniversary rolling museum as part of the show. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday.

The museum itself houses more than 50 trucks including makes from current truck manufacturers GMC, Freightliner, Volvo, International, Kenworth, Mack and Peterbilt as well as trucks from old companies like Autocar, Moreland, Samson, White and Yellow-Knight. The museum also features trucking artifacts, information, photographs, memorabilia and other relevant materials concerning the development of the industry.

While the museum features only 50 trucks, the show brings in hundreds more from all over the country and covers the museum’s 63-acre grounds. This year the show features “Orphan” trucks — or trucks made by smaller manufacturers like Diamond, White, Autocar, Sterling, REO and Federal. The show is free for attendees and lunch is only $14.
