Medium-duty Petes rank high

Peterbilt ranks highest in customer satisfaction in conventional medium-duty trucks, according to a 2009 survey conducted by J.D. Power and Associates. The fleet has received the highest customer satisfaction rating in the medium-duty segment for three out of the last four years. The fleet's ranking includes the highest scores in vehicle performance and cost of ownership factors, J.D. Power and Associates reported. Survey researchers interviewed nearly 1,600 fleet managers or owner-operators, of two-year-old conventional cab medium-duty trucks.

Danny Herman Trucking wins award

Danny Herman Trucking received the 2009 Tennessee Trucking Association Clean Diesel Leadership Award. The honor was awarded to the fleet, based in Mountain City, Tenn., for its contribution to air quality through fuel savings strategies. Danny Herman also has been a member of EPA’s SmartWay program since May 2008 and has achieved the program's highest score, a 1.25.

Kenworth opens Lansing dealership

Central Michigan Kenworth opened recently in Lansing near the intersection of South Cedar Street and East Jolly Road, about one-half mile north of U.S. Interstate 96.The new Kenworth dealership offers full-service and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Eastern Michigan Kenworth.

NTSB pushes for sleep apnea program

The National Transportation Safety Board wants the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration to begin a program to identify commercial drivers at high risk for obstructive sleep apnea, and if treatment is required, show that it is has been conducted.
