Averitt donates to East Tennessee relief efforts

| December 07, 2016

Averitt Express (No. 21 on the CCJ Top 250) recently donated $10,000 to the American Red Cross to help relief efforts on East Tennessee following recent wildfires and tornadoes.

The donation comes from the company’s charitable organization, Averitt Cares for Kids. The company says nearly 85 percent of its employees give $1 a week to the group.

“Our hearts go out to the people who have been impacted by the natural disasters in East Tennessee,” said Gary Sasser, Averitt’s chairman and CEO. “We want to do what we can to help the relief efforts there, and we’re proud to partner with the American Red Cross as it continues its important work.”

Not to be argumentative, but e-logs only provide an electronic version of the paper log so any losses come from actually following the rules. Don't get me wrong I believe the mandates crap, but it does demonstrate how many drivers were cheating..............................
