Averitt ups pay

Averitt Express has changed its pay packages for both veterans and new CDL holders looking to join the company. Averitt is increasing across-the-board pay for regional drivers and shortening the amount of time to reach top-out pay. The company instituted a one cent per mile increase for experienced regional truckload and flatbed drivers. Averitt raised pay for the various step-up tiers of their supplemental, refresher and student training programs.

Averitt recently established a Driver Convenience Center at its Tifton, Ga., facility. The facility features washers and dryers, a lounge and free Wi-Fi.

The company also rolled out a fuel efficiency bonus. The fuel efficiency bonus is a quarterly program that adds extra dollars to drivers’ paychecks for conserving fuel and improving miles per gallon.

Averitt expanded its Finishing School for student drivers.  Averitt’s Finishing School is a weeklong training course for truckload drivers going through the company’s student program. Drivers who have recently graduated from an approved school or who have just a few months of experience over the past year are sent to one of the Finishing Schools located in Cookeville, Tenn., Lexington, Ky., Jackson, Tenn., or Decatur, Ala., after completing their road training from an Averitt driver-trainer.
