Biological clock stops relationship

Dear Carolyn,

I’m in a relationship with an older woman who is no longer biologically able to have children. We are really good together and I enjoy the time I spend with her children from a previous marriage. However, part of me still wants to have my own child one day. Is this selfish? Should I tell her or just wait until I find a younger, more fertile girlfriend? I don’t want to waste my time even though I really dig her.

George

Dear George,

Yes dear, you should tell her.  She should have this information so she can decide if she wants to waste her time as well. It’s cruel to withhold something this fundamentally important from someone. I’m not knocking the desire to have your own child. However, before you are ready to become a father, you need to become a man.

Man up.

I’m just say’n,

Carolyn
