Carl Hubbard’s “Ol’ Blackie” is a 1996 Western Star 4964F Heritage that features a 66-inch sleeper and a 260-inch wheelbase. In 2005, Hubbard says the truck was a total loss, but he rebuilt the truck from the ground up over a seven-month period. Hubbard, a Western Star dealer (Heritage Equipment), rebuilt the truck to be a heavy hauler, used to transport the Western Star 6900XD pictured above. The truck is powered by a 60 Series Detroit, an Eaton-Fuller 13-speed and 3:91 rears. All of the polished aluminum work on “Ol’ Blackie,” such as the full fenders, headache rack and more, was installed by ALFAB in Smithville, W.V. The chrome came from Western Star and the Iowa 80 Chrome Shop. The truck is garaged at Hubbard’s dealership in Beckley, W.V.
