Jacobson purchases fleet of Mack Pinnacles

Mack Trucks recently announced that Jacobson Companies has purchased 139 day cabs and 120 sleepers, a total of 259, Mack Pinnacle on-highway commercial vehicles. A third-party logistics service chose the truck because of the fuel economy offered by the Pinnacle model, as well as the safe and comfortable in-cab driver environment. Melton increases driver pay

Melton Truck Lines Inc., of Tulsa, Okla., announced a 1 cent per mile across the board pay increase, effective June 5. In addition to the increase, the company has added a 4 cents per mile fuel bonus program, raised driver pay by 3 cents per mile for hazmat and loads to Canada and increased detention pay 20 percent in recent years. Former Prime Inc. lease owner-operator Siphiwe Baleka recently returned from the “San Diego or Bust” bicycle transport tour. Pilot opens new centers

Pilot Flying J has announced plans to open seven new travel centers and plazas in June and July. The two travel plazas will be located in Anna, Texas, and Nanton, Alberta, Canada.
