Bay Bridge remains closed

California’s San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge remains closed to repair the crossbar and two rods that came loose and fell to the pavement yesterday, Oct. 27. Crews completed welding on a section of the bridge but the repair still has to be tested for safety, said a spokeswoman for the California Department of Transportation. The Tennessee Department of Transportation will reduce Interstate 40 East and West in Fayette County to one lane this weekend as work to repair five bridges continues.
