DSC_7744With only two races remaining on the schedule in the inaugural Meritor ChampTruck World Series season, racers are preparing to head to Portland International Raceway in Portland, Ore., this weekend.

The race is the eighth of the season for ChampTruck. Competitors will hit the track Friday, Oct. 2 through Sunday, Oct. 4. Qualifying and three heat races will be held Saturday, and two heat races and the points-earning Podium Race will be held Sunday.

In the series’ previous race, Hungarian racer Krisztian Szabo won his second race of the season at Motorsports Park Hastings in Nebraska.

ChampTruck races field roughly a dozen Class 8 trucks that race in several heats and a main event to determine both a weekend points champion and earn points for the season championship.

Admission is $30 for a two-day pass, or $20 for a one-day general admission ticket and pit pass. Children 15 and under are admitted free with a paid adult. Click here to learn more about attending this weekend’s race.
