Class 8 Limo

Jason McPherson and his girlfriend Ashlee White turned heads when they pulled up to the prom in a red 2001 International Eagle.

Trucker Jason McPherson took his date to the senior prom in big rig style.

McPherson, 18, gave his shiny red 2001 International Eagle a break from hauling logs for one night to carry a new kind of cargo – dressed-up teens.

McPherson, who started driving a pulp truck part-time for his father’s company, Bill McPherson Trucking, when he was 16, says the unusual prom transportation was his father’s idea. “My dad was talking about it and said I should do it because nobody had done it before,” McPherson says. “He thought it would be cool.”

McPherson and his girlfriend Ashlee White – along with two friends who joined them for the ride – attracted plenty of attention in their unique “limo.”

Jason McPherson’s father suggested the unusual prom transportation.

They went to dinner first at a restaurant in their hometown of Rumford, Maine. “A little boy got out of the car in front of us and said, ‘Whoa – looks like they’re going in style!'” White says.

The pair had to park a street over from the prom, but they first rode down the street where everyone was standing. “Everyone’s head was turning and looking to see who it was,” White says. “They thought it was cool.”

Now that he has graduated high school, McPherson is pursuing his lifelong dream of driving full-time. “I’ve been around it my whole life,” he says. “It’s always been interesting.
