MarianiAt the Great American Trucking Show Cobra Electronics booth no. 16074 through Saturday, not only will you find “American Trucker” host Robb Mariani (pictured) signing autographs and talking to Cobra customers, but you’ll get a demonstration of the company’s new Wireless CB Microphone System & Bluetooth Headset.

Paired with any 4-pin CB and a driver’s Bluetooth-enabled cellphone, the new headset allows drivers to conduct all communications wirelessly and hands-free. This headset is designed to make driving safe, convenient and efficient for professionals, said CB Category Manager Ramon Sandoval — and potentially help avoid a hefty handheld-cell-use fine.

The headset battery delivers 10 hours of talk time, Sandoval added, with the Bluetooth receiver attached to the CB plugging into the CB’s microphone jack. A wire is routed then to the driver’s shifter, where a button will allow switching between phone and CB.

The new headset will be available in November at an MSRP of $129.

Also at the Cobra booth, the company is showcasing its new 8000 Pro HD (7-in. screen) and 6000 Pro HD (5-in.) GPS navigation units, designed from the ground up specifically to meet the demands of today’s professional driver. Both include high-definition touch screens, truck-optimized route guidance, live and predictive traffic information, free lifetime map updates, and lifetime access to the AURA database of speed/red-light camera locations, dangerous intersections and known speed traps.
