Con-way Freight

Con-way Freight, an Ann Arbor, Mich.-based less-than-truckload company, this week announced it was increasing its pay rates to be competitive for each of its geographic markets and also reducing the time it takes for drivers to reach the top pay scale to three years from their hire date. Both enhancements take effect Jan. 4.

The Teamsters recently had its first success at Con-way after drivers and dock workers at the company’s terminal in Laredo, Texas, on Sept. 12 voted 55-49 to join the union. In California, the union has filed to organize votes at Con-way’s Los Angeles, Santa Fe Springs and San Fernando terminals.
