CVSA’s Keppler steps down as executive director

Stephen A. Keppler, who has served as executive director and been with the Commercial Vehicle Safety alliance for the past 15 years, is leaving CVSA to accept a position with the Intermodal Association of North America.

CVSA is the hub enforcement group made up of enforcers from the local level all the way up to the federal level.

“I have been extremely proud and humbled to have had the opportunity to lead this incredible and impactful organization,” Keppler said. “It will always have a special place in my heart. I also am very excited about the future of CVSA given the quality and talent of the membership and the staff, as well as the current state of affairs in CMV safety. There is still much to be done, but CVSA is well positioned to continue to offer solutions that will save lives.”

Keppler’s last day with CVSA will be Friday, Sept. 4. Collin Mooney will serve as acting executive director until the executive director position is filled. Mooney has 26 years of experience in the transportation safety industry, all of which have been dedicated to truck and bus safety and security. He’s been with CVSA since 2003, and has served as deputy executive director since 2010.
