Davis Bros., operating 21 trucks hauling a variety of specialized freight — anything from hazmat to hopper bottom ag freight — out of Owensville, Ind., has three custom rigs on offer today at Overdrive’s Pride & Polish event in Crossville, Tenn., at Fitzgerald’s. The 2005 Peterbilt 379 and Wilson hopper bottom at right is the company’s “Super Freak” showpiece. The flattop and stand-up sleeper 2013 Pete 389s on the left are Fitzgerald Glider’s powered by 12.7 1998 emissions spec Detroit Diesels with no small amount of custom work in them as well. They were “driver’s choice,” says fleet owner Brian Davis, and the stand-up’s driven by longtime Davis hauler Steve Compton, the flattop by Rick Wheeler.
