Diesel price drops 2nd week

For the second straight week, the average weekly on-highway diesel price dropped, according to the U.S. Department of Energy.

The national average price fell 0.9-cent to $3.162, after falling 1.3 cents the previous week. The current price is 38.7 cents higher than a year ago.

Most of the prices in individual regions tracked by DOE declined. The Midwest fell 1.2 cents to $3.144, the West Coast dropped 1.6 cents to $3.30 and the Gulf Coast declined 0.9-cent to $3.078. The Rocky Mountain region increased 0.7-cent to $3.272, and New England gained 0.2-cent to $3.237. California stayed the most expensive, dropping 1.2 cents to $3.328.
