Diesel price falls 3rd week

For a third straight week, the national average retail price of a gallon of diesel declined this week, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. The national price declined 1.9 cents to $2.938 in the latest week.

The price is 26.4 cents higher than a year ago.

All regions reported lower prices except the Rocky Mountain area, where the price again gained less than a penny. The Gulf Coast fell 2.8 cents to $2.888. The East Coast dropped 2.2 cents to $2.93. California retained its position as the most expensive in the U.S., dropping 2.1 cents to $3.15 a gallon.
