Diesel price falls again

Dscn0924 Od2For the fourth straight week, the national average retail price of diesel fell 3.7 cents to $3.749 for the week ended Oct. 3, according to the U.S. Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration.

Average prices declined in all regions, led by the Central Atlantic area, down 4.1 cents to $3.881, and Lower Atlantic, off 4 cents to $3.699. Overall on the East Coast, the average price fell 3.9 cents to $3.765. The Midwest also dropped 3.9 cents to $3.699.

With the latest price dip, the national average price is 74.9 cents higher than a year ago. The record diesel price was $4.764 in July 2008.
