Diesel price rises again

The national average retail price of a gallon of diesel increased again this week, pushing toward its highest level in 18 months, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. The price rose 0.5 cent to $3.127 in the latest week.

Increasing for the 11th week in the past 12 weeks, the national price was the highest since Oct. 27, 2008, when it was $3.288.

All regions reported small increases, with the exception to the West Coast, where the average price dipped 1 cent to $3.233. The biggest increase was in New England, where the price gained 2.3 cents to $3.161.  California advanced 0.9 cent to a national high of $3.269. All regions were above $3 a gallon.
