Diesel price rises

After four weeks of declining prices, the national average retail price of a gallon of diesel increased this week, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. The national price rose 1.2 cents to $2.943 in the latest week.

The price is 30.9 cents higher than a year ago.

Most regions reported higher prices. The exceptions were New England, which dropped 0.8 cent and the West Coast and California, both of which dipped 0.3 cent a gallon. The Midwest gained 2 cents to 2.92. California remained the most expensive in the U.S. at $3.142 a gallon.
