Diesel prices creeping up

After five weeks of declining prices, the national average retail price of a gallon of diesel increased this week, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. The price gained 3.3 cents to $2.961 in the latest week.

It had dropped 19.9 cents over the previous five weeks.

All regions reported higher prices except the Rocky Mountain area, where the average price dipped 0.9 cent to $2.98. The biggest increase of 5.7 cents to $3.125 was in California, the most expensive region. The cheapest diesel remained on the Gulf Coast at $2.908 after an increase of 3.4 cents.
