Stagecoach Cartage & Distribution truck driver Adrian Parada has been named a Highway Angel by the Truckload Carriers Association for pulling a motorist from a burning pickup truck.

On Oct. 25, 2016, Parada was fueling at a Love’s Travel Stop in Ft. Stockton, Texas, when he saw a pickup truck on fire. He told a fellow Stagecoach driver to call 911 and ran to see if the driver needed help. When he arrived on the scene, he saw the driver was trying to get out of the truck.

The driver was able to get himself out, but fell to the pavement when he did. Parada then grabbed him and pulled him away from the pickup, just before it exploded. The driver of the pickup sustained burns to his knees, feet and arms.

For his willingness to help, TCA presented Parada with a certificate, patches, lapel pin and truck decals. Stagecoach was also given a certificate acknowledging their driver as a Highway Angel.
