Erb Transport, PGT manager win TCA’s weight loss contest

Rhonda Yost of New Brighton, Pa., and New Hamburg, Ontario-based fleet Erb Transport took top honors in the Truckload Carriers Association’s second Trucking’s Weight Loss Showdown.

Yost lost 22.8 percent of her starting body weight during the 10-week competition and won $2,500 from sponsor Cline Wood Agency. Yost is the executive director of lease-purchase for PGT Trucking. Erb Transport won the contest’s company competition, losing a collective total of 315 pounds — a 12.1 percent drop from the team’s combined original weight. Erb will receive a $12,000 prize from TravelCenters of America/Petro.

Overall, 72 people participated in the Showdown. Between them, 1,613.6 pounds were shed. On average, teams lost about 9.5 percent of their collective weight, and 27 individuals lost 10 percent of their starting body weight.
