Expect delays on I-90 in Washington

Truckers on I-90 in Washington State will face delays this weekend from construction work, the State Department of Transportation announced today, May 20.

Drivers traveling west on I-90 between mileposts 70 and 74 near Easton can expect up to an hour-and-a-half of added travel time Friday afternoon, and heading east, up to an hour of added travel time on Sunday, the state DOT said.

Westbound traffic on I-90 will be reduced to one lane from 9 a.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Sunday. On Sunday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., eastbound traffic will be reduced to one lane in the same area.

Loads wider than 12 feet will not be allowed on the interstate between mileposts 70 and 74 until June 15. An exception is eastbound loads up to 14 feet wide will be allowed each night from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. and westbound loads of the same size will be allowed from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Thursday, the state DOT said.

Another I-90 delay this weekend will be at Snoqualmie Summit east of Seattle, where a concrete repair project is under way.
