Decker Truck Line receives Iowa Freedom Award

Decker Truck Line, based in Fort Dodge, Iowa, received the 2009 Iowa Freedom Award for its support of the National Guard and Army Reserves. Iowa Gov. Chet Culver presented Tony Russell, the fleet’s chief operating officer, with the award.


HONORS

Inc. magazine named AmeriQuest Transportation Services, based in Cherry Hill, N.J., as one of the 5000 fastest-growing private companies in the United States. . . . Atlas Van Lines, based in Evansville, Ind., honored 65 of its agents with the 2008-09 Milton M. Hill Quality Award for their performance in warehouse and hauling operations. . . . Decker Truck Line, based in Fort Dodge, Iowa, selected Montie Moore and Dane DeDecker as Drivers of the Month for November in the flatbed and reefer/van divisions respectively. . . Marten Transport, based in Mondovi, Wis., awarded $25 and a certificate to Drivers of the Month for September, who are Mark Barber, Ahmed B. Diop, Robert Elder, Tim D. Harwell, Jose Magana, Larry Mullenax, Dan Moore, Gregory A. Mosier, Murray Nichols, Jeffrey Prazan, Hugh Richardson, Mark Rumps, Reginald Stigall, Paul Vonblaj, Anthony D. Watford, Richard Watson, Randall Wood and Steve Wymer. . . . Steel, aluminum, wind energy and lumber hauler System Transport recognized Darris Heaton for driving 2 million miles safely. Drivers who have driven 1 million miles safely are Dale Berninghaus, Ray Cook, Richard Dietzel, Michael Findley, Michael Jackson, Charles Lee, Michael Tobler and Gene Weller, as well as Craig Bracken, Saul Camacho and Bruce Merrell with subsidiary TWT.

EXPANSIONS

A. Duie Pyle, based in West Chester, Pa., has opened a new 243,000-square-foot rail-sided warehouse in Westfield, Mass., expanding its overall warehouse space to 2 million square feet. The less-than-truckload fleet bought seven terminals earlier this year in a purchase-leaseback agreement with YRC. n
