Ruan driver achieves million miles

insider-Bruce Banwell was honored with the Ruan Transport Corporation’s Million Mile Safety Award, which recognizes him for his 1 million miles of accident-free driving. Tim Laffoon, Banwell’s manager, says Banwell is always willing to go the extra mile and help with whatever the company or the customers need and that Banwell is the type of driver that keeps Ruan on the road.

 

Greatwide honored

Greatwide Logistics Services was named one of the top 70 third-party logistics providers by Food Logistics magazine. The company says the real recognition goes to the 7,000 dedicated men and women around the country who are Greatwide.


Southeastern sets internal record

Southeastern Freight Lines has met scheduled delivery 99.2 percent of the time in 2009, exceeding the company record of 98.95 percent of last year. The company now averages 455 shipments before a claim for damage is filed, exceeding the company’s previous record of 345 shipments per claim.


Solo female driver reaches million miles

Southern Refrigerated Trucking solo female driver Diana German recently reached the million-mile mark. She started working for SRT in 2001 and has been one of their top female drivers for many years. Referred to by her co-workers and other drivers as “Wonder Woman,” German was able to get loads picked up and delivered on time when other drivers were finding it difficult, her company says.


Decker names drivers of the month

Decker Truck Line announced its drivers of the month for June and July. For June, Jeff Bostic was named flatbed driver of the month, and Darrell Schaffner was driver of the month for the van/reefer division. Tom Shadle was named July’s driver of the month for the flatbed division, and van/reefer driver of the month for July was Dean Soucek.


Schneider wins Carrier of the Year award

Georgia-Pacific has recognized Schneider National as its 2008 Dedicated Carrier of the Year. This is the second consecutive year Schneider was recognized for the service it provides Georgia-Pacific.
