Central Freight Lines received the first-place safety award in the LTL/P&D division from the Texas Motor Transportation Association.

Prime driver competes at triathlon championships

Prime Inc. driver Siphiwe Baleka and the Endurance Films Racing Team made their debut in Burlington, Vt., at the 2011 USATriathlon Age Group National Championships. Baleka finished 662nd overall among 1,647 race finishers, and 87th in the men’s 40-44 age group.

Prime names drivers, contractors of the month

Prime Inc. recently honored drivers and independent contractors in its refrigerated, flatbed and tanker divisions for June. Refrigerated division: independent contractor Michael Sparks, company driver Antoine M. Harrigan and driver Gene A. Selby. Flatbed division: independent contractor Ervin Jackson and company driver Troy McKinney. Tanker division: independent contractor Andre Green and company driver Douglas Adams.

Marten opens facility in Kansas

Marten Transport recently opened a terminal facility in Kansas City, Kan., making it the dispatch headquarters for the company in the Central Plains region. The facility is expected to create more than 250 jobs for professional drivers, mechanics, dispatchers and administrative support.

Southeastern named LTL Carrier of the Year

Southeastern Freight Lines has earned the 2010 LTL Carrier of the Year award by Rheem Water Heating Division for the second year in a row. Southeastern also received the LTL Carrier of the Quarter award for all four quarters of 2010.

MCA driver reaches 1-million mile mark
