CON-WAY DRIVERS ACHIEVE MILESTONE
Rick Suchy, a professional driver based out of Con-way Freight’s Milan, Ohio, service center, recently achieved 2 million safe miles of driving. Suchy has been a professional truck driver for 30 years. He is married to his wife of 37 years, Nancy, and has two adult sons. His hobbies include relaxing and hunting.

John Ressler, a professional driver based out of Con-way Freight’s Pittsburgh service center, recently achieved 2 million safe miles. Ressler has been a professional truck driver for 30 years. Ressler has been married to his wife, Teresa, for 29 years. They have three children: Anna, 29; Kelly, 18; and Jonathan, 15. He also is the proud grandfather to two grandsons, ages 11 and 2. In his free time he enjoys riding ATV quads.

Ronnie Long, a professional driver based out of Con-way Freight’s Louisville, Ky., service center, also recently achieved 2 million safe miles. Long has been a professional truck driver for 29 years, and has worked for Con-way Freight for 22 of those years. Long has been married for 26 years to his wife, Karen, and has two children, Ashley and Aaron. His hobbies include running.

Jim Slaaen, a 35-year pro and one of Con-way Freight’s original employees, also has achieved 2 million accident-free miles. He has received an eight-year safe driving award from the Wisconsin Motor Carriers President’s Safe Driver Club, of which he is a member. In addition, Slaaen was honored by Con-way Freight with one-, three-, five- and 10-year safety awards and for reaching the million-mile mark. He and his wife, Mary, have three children: Mark, 36; Matt, 28; and Meagan, 24; and one granddaughter, Marisa, 1. Slaaen’s hobbies include hunting, fishing and riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

Con-way Truckload announced that George Cook of Arlington, Texas, has been recognized for driving 3 million safe miles between 1986 and 2009. A professional driver for 31 years, Cook has driven for Con-way Truckload for 23 years and has previously been honored with awards for reaching 1 and 2 million miles, as company driver of the month for four years in a row and as company driver of the year for the past three years. Cook currently lives in Arlington, Texas, with his wife of 29 years, Tani. The couple has six children and 10 grandchildren. In his spare time, he enjoys flying, fishing and bowling. Con-way Truckload also announced it has been named a Best Fleet to Drive For by the Truckload Carriers Association.

Decker announces drivers of the month
Decker Truck Line is pleased to announce that Steve Leman was named January’s Flatbed Driver of the Month. Leman lives in West Bend, Iowa, with his wife, Angela, and their three children. Stan Deleeuw was the Van/Reefer Driver of the Month for January. Deleeuw lives in Rolfe, Iowa. He is the father of three children and became a grandfather for the first time in January. Jerry Bossart was honored as February’s Flatbed Driver of the Month. He and his wife live in Spring Valley, Minn., and have two grown children. Robert
