FTR Trucking Conditions Index steady

FTR Associates’ Trucking Conditions Index for February eased very slightly to 5.9, according to the April 2012 Trucking Update. The Nashville, Ind.-based company forecasts the February reading to be the low point for 2012 with strong month-over-month increases through the remainder of the year, as trucking freight volumes are expected to grow.

Larry Gross, Senior Consultant for FTR, commented, “February is normally the softest month of the year in terms of trucking demand. We expect pricing power to remain squarely on the side of the carrier in 2012.”
