General tires S581 and S371, D660 and ST250 are now approved as having low rolling resistance in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s SmartWay program, manufacturer Continental Tire announced.
Steer tire S581 features an 18/32-in. 5 rib tread. The S371 steer and drive tire has a 20/32-in. tread depth. The D660 drive tire has a closed shoulder tread design with a 30/32-in. depth, and the ST250 trailer tire has 13/32-in. tread depth and includes a stone ejection system and patented visual alignment indicators to alert drivers of tracking problems.
