Good-Looking Rigs

SOARING EAGLE
Carol Ann Schlussler received this 2005 International American Eagle 9900ix for being named the Truckload Carriers Association Independent Contractor of the Year in 2003. This limited-edition truck features a 500-hp Cummins engine and an Eaton Fuller 13 double-over transmission. Sporting the image of an American Eagle, this rig stands above the crowd as it hauls dry van goods, such as appliances, windows, empty cans and paper for Dart Transit Co.

FAT TURTLE’S KENWORTH
Dick Miller bought this 1974 Kenworth in 1988 and has since equipped it with a 400 Big-Cam Cummins, 5-by-4 manual transmission and 4:11 rears. A brass turtle rests on its hood, earning Miller his handle – Fat Turtle – a name coined by his nephew. Fat Turtle hauls scrap iron within 200 miles of Minnesota.
