Independent owner-operators attending the Great American Trucking Show have the chance to win up to two tires if they sign up for the Goodyear Smart Fleet program.

“The Goodyear Smart Fleet program gives owner-operators, as well as small to mid-size fleets, access to benefits that traditionally were reserved for Goodyear national account fleets,” said Jose Martinez, business solutions manager for Goodyear Commercial Tire Systems.

The benefits include:

  • Online, published pricing on new tires, retreads and services.
  • The company’s 24/7 Emergency Roadside Service program.
  • Tire performance reporting and information tools.
  • Access to premium Goodyear truck tires and technologies.

Those not at the show can sign up via goodyeartrucktires.com.

In order to be eligible for the Goodyear Smart Fleet Giveaway Sweepstakes, entrants must enroll in Smart Fleet at the Goodyear booth at the show by 3 p.m. Aug. 22. A drawing to determine five winners will take place the same day at 5 p.m. in Room D171 of the show.

“Each winner will receive a certificate that is good for one set of up to two Goodyear brand commercial dual truck tires, with a value of up to $1,200,” said Martinez. “The set can be a combination of steer, drive or trailer tires, or a set of two steer tires, two drive tires and two trailer tires.”

Those who sign up for the program receive a free copy of the new 2014 Overdrive Partners in Business manual. Goodyear Smart Fleet is a sponsor of the program. Members of the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association who sign up at the show will receive a set of work gloves.

Smart Fleet has been growing 15 percent to 20 percent per month since it was announced last year, Martinez said. About 80 percent of the customers own one to five trucks.

“We offer 24/7 roadside assistance for free,” he said. Owner-operators are often surprised to learn there are no monthly or annual fees, he said.

Show attendees also can view new premium Goodyear truck tires, including the G731 MSA and the G751 MSA, which are designed for mixed-service applications. Goodyear also is displaying the latest additions to its Fuel Max long-haul line: the G399A LHS Fuel Max, the G572A LHD Fuel Max and the G392A SSD with DuraSeal + Fuel Max wide-base tire.
