Great-Looking Rigs

‘FEELING OF PRIDE’
Dave Hintze’s 15-year-old son, Jake, is so proud of his dad’s 1993 Peterbilt that he sent in a photo. Jake says his father has put a million miles on his truck, powered by a 425-hp Caterpillar, “hauling almost anything that will fit on a flatbed, whether it is a jet engine or a load of logs,” for R.J. Wells Trucking in Tucson, Ariz. “When I am around this truck or riding around with him,” Jake writes, “I just get that feeling of pride and class.”

KENWORTH GENERATIONS
David Foster bought his first Kenworth 23 years ago. Now on his sixth – a 2005 W900L Studio with a 475-hp Caterpillar – he stays busy hauling general freight out of Joplin, Mo. Foster has kept the past alive by putting on his truck the same stripe design that was on the Kenworth he purchased new in 1982.
