Handicapped spots a godsend to trucker

There are more and more truckstops that offer handicapped parking for trucks. I was surprised and grateful the first time I saw the familiar blue sign because I am a handicapped driver.

I am an amputee, and while I have no problem driving – I’ve driven over 800,000 miles with no preventable accidents – I do have days where walking is painful. Having a handicapped spot is a godsend.

Most drivers I’ve seen don’t park there out of respect. But there are those drivers who think nothing of parking there. Maybe they don’t think there are handicapped truck drivers. We do exist, and we would appreciate it very much if you would keep our spaces reserved.

Act Professionally

Actions have consequences.

Stupid actions have negative consequences. Thankfully, not all thoughtless actions by truck drivers result in serious accidents. But they still have consequences.

How often have you heard someone say, after seeing or hearing about something, “There ought to be a law against
