STEALTH FLAMES

Marty and Diana Pickett of Columbia, Ky., have given their 1997 Freightliner mid-roof classic some special features, including all LED lights and hand-painted flames and pin striping. It boasts a 500-hp Detroit Diesel and a 13-speed transmission. The truck number is 916, representing the birthday of Marty’s late father, Davis W. Pickett Sr., who was a retired driver of more than 40 years.

GREAT WHITE

Alvin Friar of Kyle, Texas, uses his 1997 Freightliner FLD120 to haul gasoline and diesel across central Texas. It has a 470-hp Detroit Diesel, 10-speed transmission and 3.90 rears. The body features a chrome wrap-around bumper, dual 6-inch straight stacks, a 16-inch stainless steel drop visor, stainless steel hood shield, chrome train horns and chrome mudflap hangers, as well as 34 extra exterior lights. Friar has also started to chrome the dash and interior.
