IT’S A KEEPER

Fred M. Pompeo of East Bridgewater, Mass., has dressed up his 2001 Kenworth W900L to make it live up to its name – “She’s a Keepa!” – which graces the rear window. The rig features a 550-hp Caterpillar, 18-speed Roadranger, four train horns, LED millennium lights and lots of walnut and chrome in the cab. Pompeo uses his “Keepa” to move gravel.

NIGHT DRIFT

John Mahnken uses his 1998 Western Star to haul precast concrete, grain and bag seed, but the rig has also participated in a parade in his hometown of Green Ridge, Mo. The rig features a 500-hp Detroit engine with 13-speed transmission and 3.70 rears. Mahnken has been a trucker for 32 years.
