He won't quit trucking

Dear Carolyn,

I’m getting sick of my husband always being gone. He’s on the road at least two out of four weeks a month. It didn’t seem so bad when we were first married but now I’d like for him to consider changing careers. He won’t even talk about it. Not only that, he says I ought to get a job to help out.

Don’t you think I deserve more respect than that?

Katie

Dear Katie,

Um. No. Not really. You married a truck driving man. That’s what he does. You knew that when you married him. Besides, what exactly do you want him to do? Because honey, look around. Whatever ‘better career” you have in mind probably is laying off people as you whine.
Get over it. Get yourself happy. Get a job.
I’m just say’n
Carolyn
