Hearing set for CSA 2010

The American Trucking Associations will be among the parties testifying during a House hearing on the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s Comprehensive Safety Analysis 2010 program.

The hearing will be June 23 before the House Transportation and Infrastructure Subcommittee on Highways and Transit and titled “Comprehensive Safety Analysis 2010: Understanding FMCSA’s New System of Motor Carrier Oversight.”

The ATA has said it supports the CSA 2010 safety goals, but considers some of its scoring methodology flawed.

The agency’s implementation of CSA 2010 is expected to be complete before next year. CSA will replace the FMCSA’s Motor Carrier Safety Status Measurement System, or SafeStat, with the Carrier Safety Measurement System, which has been developed and tested as part of the agency’s CSA 2010 initiative.
