I-25 in Denver to be closed
May 23, 2010
| by: Overdrive Staff
Both directions of I-25 near Alameda Avenue in Denver will be closed May 23-27 as the Colorado Department of Transportation will demolish a portion of a bridge over I-25.
Each night, there will be double lane closures on northbound and southbound I-25 near Alameda Avenue starting at 9 p.m., with full closure at 11 p.m., CDOT said.
Northbound I-25 will be closed at Broadway and southbound I-25 will be closed at Alameda Avenue as well as the ramp from eastbound 6th Avenue to southbound I-25. All lanes of northbound and southbound I-25 and the ramp will reopen by 5:30 a.m. the following morning, CDOT said.
- Northbound detour route: Motorists on northbound I-25 will exit onto Broadway and take Lincoln Avenue north to 6th Avenue where access to northbound I-25 is available.
- Southbound detour route: Motorists on southbound I-25 will use the on and off-ramps at Alameda Avenue as a detour route; however, this will reduce I-25 to one lane and major delays are expected.
