I-40 paving in AZ to cause delays

After being shut down for the winter, a paving project east of Holbrook, Ariz., will be starting again Monday, April 14.  The project covers eight miles of I-40 starting at the east side of Holbrook to Sun Valley (miles 290-297).

Work hours will be 3 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and the project is expected to be completed by late summer. During this time there may be lane closures of up to three miles of I-40 both east- and westbound.

Drivers are advised to adhere to the reduced speed limit and proceed through the work zone with caution and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.

The $10 million project includes milling existing pavement and then repaving, repairing the bridge deck at the Sun Valley interchange and installing new fencing and guardrail replacement.
