I-90 in Seattle to be closed

Updated Aug 3, 2010

Drivers heading to Seattle on I-90 this week will face delays because of the Navy’s Blue Angels practices and performances.

I-90 will be closed eastbound and westbound, mainline and express lanes, between I-5 in Seattle and Mercer Island on Thursday, Aug. 5, 9:45 a.m.-noon and 1:15-2:30 p.m.; Friday, Aug. 6, 12:45-2:40 p.m.; and Saturday, Aug. 7, and Sunday, Aug. 8,  12:45-2:40 p.m., the Washington State Department of Transportation said.

I-90 east of Mercer Island will not be closed during the performance, although drivers should note that heavy congestion during these closures often restricts access to the exits.
