I-95 bridge work to cause delays in South Carolina

Drivers on northbound I-95 in South Carolina should expect delays or take a detour until Nov. 16 as repairs are made to the Lake Marion Bridge southeast of Columbia.

One of two northbound lanes will be closed for two miles beginning at mile marker 98 during concrete construction on the span, South Carolina Department of Transportation said. Rigs wider than 8.5 feet must take a detour that routes traffic to I-26 east toward Charleston, north on U.S. 52 and then back to I-95 north of the lake.

An alternate route is I-26 west to Columbia, I-77 north to I-20 east and then east to I-95.
