Idaho, Tennessee to mount holiday patrols

Idaho police statewide will conduct an enforcement campaign to target impaired driving Nov. 19-27. 

In addition the Tennessee Governor’s Highway Safety Office, state Department of Transportation, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and local police will conduct a “More Cops, More Stops” enforcement program over Thanksgiving. The focus will be on drunk driving, speeding and distracted driving. 

Idaho Transportation Department’s Office of Highway Safety and local police will patrol state highways in a program funded through a federal grant administered by ITD.

Law enforcement officers made 282 driving under the influence arrests Aug. 26 to Sept. 6. Police also captured 110 fugitives, made 132 felony arrests, recorded 284 drug arrests and recovered 14 stolen vehicles. Additional activity included 644 seat-belt citations, 348 suspended license arrests, 1,297 uninsured motorist citations, 2,526 speeding tickets and 64 reckless driving citations.
