Idle Free wins state award

Updated Jul 31, 2012

Idle Free Systems is featured in a video produced by the Wisconsin State Energy Office, highlighting companies which have experienced growth and success through the funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

Under the 2009 Recovery Act, $3.1 billion was made available to the states and U.S. territories to support the development of โ€œgreenโ€ manufacturing companies. As manufactures of auxiliary power units, Idle Free Systems received two loans to help with capital funding.

The unique characteristics of the Idle Free electric APU has led it to be chosen as the preferred auxiliary power unit for two major truck manufacturers โ€“ Mack Trucks and Volvo Trucks.

At the time that Idle Free received the loan, they had seven full-time employees. Now they have 17 employees and are actively searching to fill five more full-time positions, the company says.
