The iGlobal company’s electronic logging device and fleet management products were recently self-certified and listed on the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s ELD registry.
The Florida-headquartered company’s unique among ELD providers in promoting its Edge MDT — a combo high-speed scanner, ELD and all-around ruggedized mobile office with push-to-talk functionality and more — as manufactured in the state of Ohio. Says Chris Phibbs, company senior account manager, “We do everything we can to source components from the U.S. as well.”
The Edge MDT also features optional cellular CB with push-to-talk functionality and ruggedized features — it’s desribed by iGlobal as a “mobile office.”A ruggedized 8-inch Dell tablet the company markets as the Journey8, paired with a wireless dongle that plugs into the truck’s OBD port for ELD/telematics functionality.
The Edge can be mounted on the cab floor or via the passenger seatbelts. Its variety of features include the document imaging system, dispatch communication, ECM data reporting and GPS positioning, among others.

For fleets utilizing McLeod and TMW systems for dispatch, both devices are capable of being integrated with those programs.
